Compton, Calif. - It was announced on Thursday afternoon that Head Coach David Austin received the Compton Tartar 2019-2020 Coach of the Year Award for the Men's Sport category. Coach DA led both the 2019 Cross Country and 2020 Track and Field teams. This was his first year coaching for the Tartars. 

The 2019-2020 athletic year was the first year back for both Cross Country and Track and Field. The Cross Country team participated in six different meets. Some of the athletes dropped significant time throughout the course of the season; including some who dropped six minutes or more. Coach DA's philosophy was to "work hard and PR." 

The Cross Country program look forward to competing again this coming 2020 Fall season with the leadership of Coach DA.
