Tia Spears wins the 400 meter hurdle SCC Championships.

Compton, CA-

The leader of the Compton College Tartars track team, this year has been Tia Spears. In continuing with the theme of the year, Spears was able to have a school record in the 100 meter hurdles, with a time of 14.62. Spears also took home the South Coast Conference championship for the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.75. The mens track team had a valiant effort as well as Keshaun Wood had a triple jump of 11.35, Cha'Ron Porter had a 5.19 meter long jump. Tartars teammate Owen Vasquez had respecable times in the 400 meters and 800 meters, with a time of 57.05 in the 400 meter, and a time of 2:16 in the 800 meters. A huge congratulations is in order for the effort and improvement of the mens track team, as their season is now complete.

Spears will continue as she has qualified for the 100 and 400 meter hurdles regionals. The Southern California Track and Field Regional Championships will be hosted at Moorpark College May 6th & 7th.
