2021 Women's Soccer Commit Day

Compton, Calif. – On Wednesday, February 10 the Compton College Women's Soccer team held their inaugural Commit Day via zoom. Head Coach Diego Back invited the incoming 2021 recruit class and their family and friends, along with current team members, welcoming each of the student-athletes to the Compton College Athletics family. 

Coach Back began the session by reciting a poem by Marianne Williamson. He then opened the floor to the Compton College Women's Soccer team captains to say a few encouraging words to their new teammates, followed by introductions of the new recruits: 

Nayeli Pineda comes from Chino Hills Scale Academy is an avid striker and winger. 

Athena Reyes from Southwest Legacy High School is a strong defender. 

Clarissa Navarro is from Alliance Margaret M. Bloomfield High School and is a center back and center midfielder. 

Isabel Diaz comes from West Adams Preparatory High School and plays left back and center back. 

Kelly Gomez from Alliance Judy Ivy Burton Technology Academy and can play both as a striker or midfielder. 

Sheila Sanchez is from Bell Gardens High School and is a great defender.

Guadalupe Rodriguez comes to us from Bell Gardens High School center back and midfielder.

Meliza Lopez is an excellent goalkeeper also coming to us from Bell Garden High School. 

Emily Ruiz is a center midfielder and has the technical ability to make the play on the pitch and understands when to pass and when to penetrate in the mid third. 

Ana Marichon is an attacker and has one goal and that is to put the ball in the back of the net.

We are very excited to welcome these new recruits and their families to Compton College Athletics.
