Compton, Calif. - Sophomore Carina Perez and freshmen Jeanna Marin and Kelsea Styron combined to score in women's soccer's 3-0 series finale win over Imperial Valley on Wednesday evening.
After a scoreless first half, Marin opened up the match on a goal on a feed from sophomore Julissa Gamboa in the 52nd minute. Perez followed soon afterward in the 62nd minute with her third goal of the season off an assist by sophomore Marisol Mercado. And Styron added one more insurance goal, her first of the season, in the 84th minute up the middle on a pass from freshman Chloe Robinson.
Sophomore Rosalyn Ascencio (3-3) earned a pair of saves in the complete-match appearance at goalkeeper.
The Tartars (3-3) open South Coast Conference play on Friday, Sept. 28 at Cerritos at 2 p.m.
