Compton College has stayed competitive in the state's most skilled and difficult men's soccer league in the state--the South Coast Conference.

The Tartars are 5-7-2 overall, but posted an impressive 4-game winning streak and a 6-match undefeated (4-0-2) string in September to end pre-conference play

Compton defeated East Los Angeles, 4-1, in a SCC game on Oct. 10 as Bryant Santos, Alexander Gomez, Max Rosales and Steven Sosa-Orozco all scored goals.

Gomez, Rosales and Hugo Reyes are among the players who have stood out on the offensive side of the ball this season.

The defender corps is led by a pair of All-SCC Second Team selections from last year in now sophomores Daniel Quezada and Erick Quevedo.

The Tartars goalies Leonardo Villasenor and Issac Estrada have had some strong performances. Estrada made 10 saves in a 3-2 loss to Long Beach City College on Oct. 6.

Compton played SCC North Division leader Rio Hondo very tough in a 2-1 road defeat on Oct. 3. Juan Salazar scored in the first half and the game was a 1-1 tie before Rio Hondo scored the game-winner with just two minutes left in the contest.

The Tartars have played their best soccer at home where they sport a 4-1-1 record. In fact, Compton plays their final three SCC round-robin games at home beginning with today's (Tuesday, Oct. 24) game v. Los Angeles Harbor.

Compton will then play in the SCC Tournament on Nov. 3 and Nov. 7
