
Compton, Calif. - Freshmen Benjamin Palafox and Jose Rodriguez scored in under a minute, but the Compton men's soccer team ended its Tartar Fútbol for a Cure match against LA Harbor (3-4-5, 0-2-2) with a 2-2 draw.
The Seahawks opened the match with a goal in the sixth minute before a free kick by Rodriguez connected perfectly with Palafox, who converted a header on near side. Rodriguez followed with his own goal only 34 seconds later off a quick feed from freshman Alfredo Trujillo who received the pass from freshman Jaime Melendez.
But a goal by LA Harbor in the 74th minute equalized the match with the score remaining 2-2 as time expired.
Freshman Ruben Martinez counted four saves in the complete-match appearance.
Compton (2-6-2, 0-3-1) remains home to host Chaffey on Friday, Oct. 12 for a 4 p.m. match.
