Torrance, Calif. - Freshman Juan Albizar broke the scoreless match with the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute as the No. 5 Compton men's socer team downed the No. 12 Santa Ana Dons on Saturday afternoon in the CCCAA Southern Regional Men's Soccer Round One match.
Off a feed from freshman Jonathan Ortega, Albizar lifted a shot on the near side over the top of the Santa Ana keeper on his fifth attempt of the game. He led the team with seven total shots with three on goal in the game.
Sophomore keeper Larry Sanchez recorded four saves in the game.
The Tartars (14-5-3-) head south to No. 4 Golden West on Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m for the second round of the southern regional playoffs.
