
Winning its first South Coast Conference title since 2017, the Compton College men's basketball team received the ultimate honors as sophomore guard Zoe Holman was named SCC South Division Player of the Year while head coach Keith Hollimon was picked by his peers as SCC South Coach of the Year.
Compton also learned it had earned a Southern California Regional Playoff berth as the #20 seed. The squad will play a Round 1 game on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at #13 MiraCosta College. Admission to MC's Oceanside Campus (1 Barnard Drive, Oceanside, CA 92056) is $12 for general admission, $8 for students/staff, senior citizens (60 and over) and children under 12.
Holman was one of the state's top players this season as he averaged 17.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and led the entire SCC at 3.6 steals. In just his third season directing the program, Hollimon coached Compton to a 19-9 regular season and a sparkling 9-1 mark to finish as Co-South champs with #11 seed Cerritos.

Compton reaches the postseason for the first time in eight years when it advanced to the SoCal Regional Finals before losing to East Los Angeles. This is also the first time Compton finished above .500 in the regular season since that 27-5 SCC South championship year of 2016-17.
Also making the All-SCC South First Team was sophomore guard Jordan English, who is averaging 11.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest.
SCC Honorable Mentions went to Rey Daniels, Elijah Evans, and Kentrell Freeman.
