Compton, Calif - It was announced on Tuesday last week that sophomore Alyssa Barajas has committed to Xavier University of Louisiana to continue her softball career. Barajas began her second season with the Compton Softball Team this Spring 2020. 

Barajas was a utility player for the Tartars. She served as first base, second base, and outfield during the 2019 season and primarily as shortstop during the 2020 season. While the 2020 season was cut short Barajas still had a powerful season. She had 14 hits, 7 runs, and 3 RBIs. Her overall Tartar career.

The Xavier Gold Rush participate in the NAIA and are members of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. The 2021 season will be the inaugural season for the Gold Rush Softball Team.
