Laguna and Crook Earn November Student-Athletes of the Month

Compton, Calif. - Congratulations to men's soccer Rigoberto Laguna and women's basketball Siera Crook for earning the Compton College November Student-Athletes of the Month honors.

It has been a memorable month for the sophomore men’s soccer defender, Rigoberto Laguna. To begin the month of November off he played a passionate game on his last home game with the Tartars on sophomore night. Due to his strong play throughout the season and especially in November he was voted in to the 2021 All-South Coast Conference, South Division First Team. Most importantly Laguna has been taking care of his responsibilities in the classroom.

Freshman forward, Sierra Crook, has displayed an aggressive and tenacious style of basketball throughout the month of November. Crooks leads the Tartars and the state in rebounds per game with an average of 17.9.  One of the many highlights for Crooks in November was her game against San Bernardino Valley College where she had a total of 11 points and 26 rebounds, which led to a 56-48 Tartars victory. Crooks has jump started the second chance opportunities for her teammates and will continue to be a recognized force throughout the season at this pace.
