Compton, Calif. - Freshmen Jocelyn Molina Mancio and Maria Lopez both netted goals, but the women's soccer team lost 5-2 to Cerro Coso (5-4) on Friday afternoon.

Molina Mancio drew the goalie out of the box before knocking the ball in on the near side in the 65th minute. And Lopez scored on a breakaway in the 67th minute, set up by Maria D Lopez from midfield. 

Freshmen Rosalyn Ascencio and Diana Gonzalez split time in the goal with Gonzalez leading the way with five saves.

The Tartars (2-5) open conference play at LA Harbor on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 4 p.m.
