Compton, Calif. - Compton College Tartars Women's Basketball were victorious over San Bernardino Valley College Wolverines Thursday evening by winning in a final score of 56-48.

Freshman Siera Crook led the charge with a monstrous double-double of 11 points and 26 rebounds. Crook was tenacious on the boards throughout the game giving her team second chance points and opportunities as she currently leads the state in rebounds with 20 per game.

Paola Ramos also made big plays at pivotal moments in the game. With the Wolverines attempting to get back into the game Ramos would calmly step to the free throw and make key shots at the line. She shot a team best of 9 out of 12 from the free throw line. The Tartars showed a great team effort on the defensive end limiting the Wolverines to only one 3-pointer for the game. The defense proved to be a key element to their victory.

The Tartars next game will be on the road against San Diego Mesa on Thursday, November 18th at 5:00 p.m.
