Muhammad Converts Twice in Tartar Football for a Cure Loss to Glendale

Compton, Calif. - Freshman quarterback Mustafa Muhammad threw for 140 yards, scoring two touchdowns, but the Tartar football team lost to Glendale, 40-14, on Saturday evening in its Tartar Football for a Cure game.

Muhammad scored on a 74-yard run at the 9:14 mark in the third quarter before finding freshman Jerry Phillips in the back of the end zone for a nine-yard reception midway through the fourth quarter. Freshman Jaquill Ruffin completed the two-point conversion on a nine-yard pass from Muhammad.

Sophomore Keyyon Metoyer-Bush led the receivers corp with four receptions for 98 yards, adding three tackles on defense.

Defensively, sophomore Shepherd Grant counted six solo tackles, nine total, including one for a loss of five yards.

Compton (0-6, 0-2) heads to LA Valley next on Saturday, Oct. 20 for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
