Family Night Baseball Game for the Tartars

Family Night Baseball Game for the Tartars

Compton, CA-

The Compton College Tartars Family night game did not go as planned against the Taft College Coyotes as they lost 10-0.

In honor of our last home night game of the season, it was designated as "family night" for the Tartars. The mother of Sophmore utitly player Mitchell Mashiko was honored with throwing out the first pitch. It was a delight to see family and friends at the game showing support for the Tartars baseball team.

The Coyotes got off to a quick start as the would score two runs in the first inning. The team had a tough time garnering any momentum throughout the game as they were not able to find the gaps on their hits. The pitching staff had some control issues as they walked nine opposing batters and gave up 10 runs. The Tartars bright spots came from first basemen Byran Vichot as he was (2 for 3), and relief pitcher Jabri Walden as he finished the game strongly by pitching two scoreless innings and only giving up one hit to the Coyotes.

The Tartars will look to respond Saturday as they will be facing the Coyotes for their second match up of the series.

UP NEXT: The Tartars will be home Saturday, April 16TH against Taft College. First pitch is scheduled for 2pm.
