Compton CA - Julian Berinti leads the charge for the Tartars with 15 strikeouts to beat the Vikings 6-0.
Julian Berinti has a record-breaking day with 15 strikeouts for the Tartars. Starting pitcher Berinti had seven scoreless innings and showed dominance throughout the afternoon. The first run for the Tartars in the first inning came off a wild pitch where Crixtian Taveras (2-4)scored from third base. The key to the Tartars first win of the season was a total team effort with timely hitting and great pitching.
Taveras swung for the fences as well in the seventh inning with a two-run homerun over the right field wall. Catcher Ricky Salcdo was(2-for-2) with two RBI's for the game to break open the lead in the eighth inning. Which would be the start of a four-run inning for the Tartars to expand the lead to six runs.
UP NEXT: The Tartars will be home on Thursday, February 17TH against San Bernardino Valley College. First pitch is scheduled for 5pm.
