Compton CA- The Compton College Tartars baseball team (0-1) opened their 2022 campaign on Thursday afternoon when they hosted the Santa Ana Dons (1-0). The Tartars struggled to get the Dons out at the plate as they were defeated, 28-5, in their first game of the season.
Crixtian Taveras (2-for-3) led the Tartars on offense knocking in three RBI's on the day for Tartars. Noah Ford (1-for-3, BB) got on base twice for the Tartars while also scoring twice and one RBI. Adrian Lopez (3.0 IP, 2K) got the start on the mound, lasting three innings and giving up five runs. Unfortunately, none of the pitchers that appeared in relief, were able cool off the hot bats of the Dons as they were able to score 28 runs.
UP NEXT: The Tartars will be back on the diamond Saturday, January 29th, as they play host to Mt. San Jacinto College. First pitch is scheduled for 2pm.
