Compton Falls Short in First Game of Rio Hondo Series

Compton, Calif. – Sophomore Michael Fletcher started on the mound for the Tartars (3-15, 0-4 SCC) in Tuesday's game against Rio Hondo (9-9, 3-4 SCC), allowing five hits and five runs, with two strike outs in his five innings.  The Tartars fell short with a score of 5-1.

Sophomore Jibri Walden came in as a relief pitcher for Compton during the sixth inning. He struck out one batter and only allowed 2 hits in his time of work.

The only Compton run of the game was scored by sophomore Jacob Perez on a balk pitch by Rio Hondo.

Compton will face Rio Hondo at home for the third game of the series, Saturday March 7 with a 12 p.m. start time.
