Baseball Loses Contest to Bakersfield

Compton, Calif. – Sophomore Noah Ford went 2 for 4 on Tuesday afternoon with two singles and driving in two RBIs. Ford also scored twice but the Tartars (3-10) fell to the Bakersfield Renegades (4-8) 14-10.

Sophomores Michael Fletcher, Jose Romero, and freshman Francisco Guzman also brought in two RBIs each.

Freshman Alberto Gonzalez started on the mound for Compton. In his three innings of work Gonzalez struck out two batters and allowed five hits and three runs. Sophomore Jose Gutierrez-Silva finished the game for Compton putting in three innings of work. He too, struck out two batters and only allowed two hits.

The Tartars will play again at home on Thursday February 27 against the Irvine Valley Lasers with a 4 p.m. start time.
