Baseball Sweeps City College of San Francisco

Compton, Calif. – The Tartars swept San Francisco City College in a double-header series on Saturday afternoon. 

In the first game sophomore Jacob Perez went 2 for 3 with one double and three RBIs on the day.  Sophomore Adrian Estrada went 1 for 3 with one double and two RBIs.

Sophomore Rafael Cortez started on the mound for the Tartars and pitched a total six innings. In his time on the mound he struck out six batters and only allowed three hits and one run. This was Cortez's (1-0) first win of the season for a final score of 7-2 Compton College.

In the second game Michael Fletcher and Jabri Walden came in as relief pitchers and had four strikeouts each. Walden was the winning pitcher of the night and this was his (1-0) first win of the season. Adrian Estrada was 4 for 4 with a single that brought in three runs.  Sophomore Noah Ford scored the walk-off winning run in the twelfth inning for a final score of 11-10 Compton College.  

The next home game will be on Tuesday February 18 against Long Beach City with a 6 p.m. start time.
