Led by five players who scored in double-figures, the Cerritos College women's basketball team posted a solid 82-34 win over host Compton College on Wednesday. The win improved the Falcons record to 9-14 overall, while they are now 4-1 in South Coast Conference South Division play. The team will host Los Angeles Southwest College at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Cerritos jumped out to a commanding 29-8 lead after the first quarter and extended that advantage to 54-14 by intermission. The comfortable lead allowed everyone a chance to play extended minutes.

As a result, five players scored in double-figures and were led by sophomore Miah Nayback (La Serna HS), who netted 9-of-15 shots for a season-high 18 points, while sophomore Damarie Saldivar (Paramount HS) finished with 17 points, six rebounds, five assists and seven steals in a superb all-around game.

Coming off the bench, freshman Rayne Rodriguez (La Serna HS) turned in a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, with Brianna Charles (El Rancho HS) contributing 10 points and seven caroms. Sophomore Melana Goodloe (Warren HS) also had a strong all-around game with 15 points, six rebounds and five assists.
