South Coast Conference opponents are finding it hard to gain points v. the formidable Pasadena City College women's badminton team. The Lancers scored 21-0 blankings at Compton on Wednesday, then v. East Los Angeles at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium on Thursday.

The Lancers are 5-0 overall and now 4-0 in South Coast Conference play, allowing just five team points against in their four conference matches.

Against Compton, Janet Diec played at #1, My Linh Ly at #2, Sophie Chao at #3, and Karylle Peralta at #4 and each won their two singles matches in straight sets. Anh Vu Nguyen Tran teamed with Ly to pick up two doubles wins while Chao and Diec did the same.

In the ELAC shutout, the win roll call was Rhea Zou, Diec, Uyen Banh, Peralta, Laura Lin, and Vicky Ruan going a combined 12-0 in singles while Zou-Ly, Chao-Diec, and Anya Bondarenko-Ruan totaling all five doubles team points. Every match was a sweep except Peralta at #4 needing three sets to defeat ELAC's #3 Siqi Huang, 21-14, 8-21, 21-15.

PCC Coach Jen Ho now has an 84-12 overall record (.875 win percentage) in her ninth season directing the badminton program.
