Metoyer-Bush, Perez Named Compton October Athletes of the Month

Compton, Calif. - Football's Keyyon Metoyer-Bush and women's soccer's Carina Perez have been tabbed the Compton Athletics October Athletes of the Month, announced Thursday

Starting all three games in October, sophomore Keyyon Metoyer-Bush was a spark on both sides of the ball and on special teams for the Tartars. Metoyer-Bush was named the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) American Division Special Teams/All-Purpose Player of the Week for Week 8 after his performance at LA Valley. The 6-2 wide receiver/defensive back counted the team's lone score against the Monarchs with a 91 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Additionally, he earned nine receptions for 173 yards and tallied 14 tackles, including nine solo. In total, he earned 469 all-purpose yards.

Sophomore Carina Perez continued to lead the Compton women's soccer program, scoring her fourth goal of the season against Chaffey and tallying five shots on goal. The versatile player has played in a number of positions this season, and she has started and played in all nine games in October.
