Compton, Calif. – It was announced on Tuesday that Sophomore Niea Ulmer from Women’s basketball and Freshman Onaje Higgins from Men’s basketball received December’s Student-Athletes of the Month.

Ulmer leads the Tartars in both steals and rebounds. She is ranked second in the conference averaging 15.4 rebounds per game and sixth in the South Coast – South Conference division with averaging 1.6 blocks per game. For the month of December alone Ulmer averaged 15.1 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game.

Higgins is currently leading the team in assists and steals collected throughout the season. In conference he is ranked seventh overall for assists per game for South division, averaging 2.8 assists per game. Higgins is also ranked fifth overall for the South Coast – South Conference division for steals per game, averaging 2 each game.
