Entire Women's Soccer Sophomore Class Signed to Four-Year Universities

Compton, Calif. - The 2019 Women's Soccer team completed an impressive feat last Wednesday, June 3 as the final sophomore signed with a four-year university, marking the first time the team's entire sophomore class has signed to play at the next level in recent memory. Sophomores Jenifer Lopez, Chloe Robinson, and Nadine Vazquez have all signed to universities to continue their soccer and academic careers.

During Lopez's two seasons with the Tartars, she scored five goals, one of which was the winning goal of the game. She was the second most scoring athlete for the Tartars and was also second in points earned on the team. Lopez received First Team accolades for the SCC South Division and September's Student-Athlete of the month. She will be attending Mary Baldwin University.

Robinson was a midfielder for the Tartars. She started in all 35 games she participated in during her two years with Compton and led the team on defense. Robinson also earned Second Team South Coast Conference South Divisions for both 2018 and 2019 seasons. She will be attending the University of LaVerne.

Vazquez served as a defensive asset on the Tartar's roster. She also started in every game she participated for both the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Vazquez served as Secretary on the Student-Athlete Leadership Team. She will be attending Ottawa University.

The 2019 Women's Soccer team showed great improvement, under the leadership of first-year coach Diego Back, as they went 4-9-5 overall and 1-6-1 in conference, including their first conference win since 2011.
