Compton, Calif. - It was announced on Monday afternoon that sophomore Jenifer Lopez was awarded the Compton Tartar 2019-2020 Women's Sophomore of the Year Award. Lopez completed her second season with the Women's Soccer Team this past fall.

During her two seasons with the Tartars, Lopez scored five goals, one of which was the winning goal of the game. She was the second most scoring athlete for the Tartars and she was also second in points earned on the team. Lopez also received First Team accolades for the SCC South Division and September's Student-Athlete of the month. 

On October 1, Lopez scored the solo goal for the Tartars ending the game with a tie against El Camino. This was the first conference game tie for the Tartars since 2016.
