Women's Soccer Scores First; Falls to El Camino

Compton, Calif. - Freshman Jeanna Marin knocked in the match's first goal, but the Compton women's soccer team fell to El Camino, 2-1, on Tuesday afternoon.

Marin scored her fourth goal of the season off a feed from freshman Nikki Rosales in the 11th minute, but the Warriors were able to equalize the match in the 33rd minute before scoring the go-ahead goal in the 87th minute.

Sophomore Marisol Mercado led the team in shots with three on target, while Marin counted three, two on goal.

Sophomore Rosalyn Ascencio played the complete game in the goal, counting 11 saves. 

The Tartars (3-5-0, 0-2-0) head back on the road, facing Long Beach on Friday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m.
