Compton, Calif. -  Freshman Andranae Powns counted 15 points and 14 rebounds but the Tartars (1-13, 0-1) fell short, 54-49, against Long Beach (8-12, 1-1) on Friday evening.

Powns counted her fourth double-double of the season while adding four assists and five steals to her night.

Sophomore Nia Ingram recored 10 points and Freshman Niea Ulmer continued her presence in the paint with 11 rebounds.

The women's basketball team continues conference play on the road against Cerritos on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m.
