Softball Comes Up Short Against Pasadena

Compton, Calif. - Freshman Samantha Orozco went 2-for-2 with two RBI, but the Compton softball team came up short against Pasadena (5-0), 14-9, on Thursday afternoon.

The game was called at the completion of the sixth inning due to lack of daylight.

Orozco counted her two RBI on a single up the middle in the first inning before a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third.

Freshman Yazzmine Arrington-Edwards went 3-for-4 with two RBI, but was charged with the complete-game loss in the circle with her record now sitting at 1-4. Sophomore Beatriz Herrera was the other Tartar to earn a multi-hit game.

The softball team (2-5) continues South Coast Conference crossover play on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at Rio Hondo at 3 p.m.
