Compton, Calif. - Sophomore Ivan Vasquez net two goals in the first half, adding an assist in the second, as the Tartars (9-2-1, 3-1-0) blanked the Warriors (5-5-2, 0-2-1), 3-0, on Friday afternoon.
Vasquez scored his first goal in the sixth minute off a setup from sophomore Gustavo Ruiz before counting a solo strike in the 22nd minute. Vasquez counted his eighth assist on the season on a feed to sophomore Ignacio Carrillo in the 82nd minute.
Sophomore keeper Larry Sanchez earned the team's lone save. Compton counted 16 shots on the game with 11 coming in the first half to El Camino's six.
The Tartars have a bye on Tuesday before hosting Rio Hondo for their Tartar Fútbol for a Cure game on Friday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
