Tartars Come Up Short Against West LA in Season Finale

Compton, Calif. - Freshman Terrence Otis scored on a 27-yard pass from freshman Mustafa Muhammad, but the Tartars came up short against West LA, 48-8, in the 2018 season finale on Saturday evening.

Muhammad counted the two-point conversion rush with 11:21 remaining in the second quarter.

The Compton football team converted on fourth down three times, and Muhammad completed 13 passing attempts for 110 yards.

Freshman Tory Guyus led the rushing efforts, while sophomore Keyyon Metoyer-Bush again led the team in receptions and reception yards.

Defensively, sophomores Owen Vasquez and Shepherd Grant led the team with six tackles each.

Compton honored its nine sophomores - Joseph Cervantes, Grant, Jeremiah Gutierrez, Rae'kwon Hall, Metoyer-Bush, Nilo Reynoso, Vasquez, and Brandon Washington - before the game.
