Football Falls in Season Opener to Santa Barbara

Compton, Calif. - The Compton football team fell 45-0 in its season opener against Santa Barbara (1-0) on Saturday night.

Freshman Terry Brady led the defense with 10 tackles, including one sack and two for loss for a total of 14 yards. He also earned the game's longest reception on a connection from freshman Mustafa Muhammad for 45 yards. Muhammad finished the game with a 8-of-11 performance for 91 total yards.

Adding to the defensive stats, freshman Jerry Phillips earned six solo tackles, including two tackles for loss with a sack for 12 yards.

The Tartars (0-1) head to Citrus next on Saturday, Sept. 8 for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
