Compton, Calif. – Compton College All-State cornerback Gregory Filer III inked a National Letter of Intent (NLI) to play at Montana State on Wednesday.

The 6-0 product of Paramount High School was a unanimous All-Metro League First Team selection last season after counting five picks and 39 tackles over 10 games. Filer also recorded a sack, and he was the team’s leading kickoff and punt returner. He also appeared in one game at quarterback.

In 2016, he was named All-Metro League Second Team after earning 15 tackles and a pair of interceptions, including a pick six for 76 yards that secured a season finale victory over LA Southwest.

The Bobcats return five of their six corners from the 2017 campaign that resulted in a 5-6 mark, 5-3 in Big Sky play. Filer joins former teammate, running back Edward Vander, who joined Montana State last spring.
