Tartars lose at home to East Los Angeles College 7-1

Compton, CA- 

The Compton College Tartars lose at home to confernece opponent East LA College Huskies to a score of 7-1.

After winning their last conference series against LA Harbor College Seahawks the Tartars were hoping to keep the winning spirit going against the Huskies. Even though the Tartars would get 11 hits they were only able to score one run for the game. The Tartars where not able to get the timely hits when runners were on base as they left nine runners on base for the game. The Huskies got off to a quick start as they scored three runs in the first inning to get out to a 3-0 lead. The Tartars got their lone run from Sophomore Catcher Michael Heard (2-3) who would get the RBI hit in the sixth inning. This would cut the lead to 6-1 unfortunately the Tartars would not get any closer in the game as they were not able to get the timely hits.   

The Tartars bullpin did a great job as right handed relief pitcher Vincent Pirozzi pitched four innings to give up only one run. Then closer Xavier Stewart came in and led the Tartars in strikeouts as he got three K's in 1.2 innings with no runs scored. The Tartars will look to respond on Thursday as they will be facing the Huskies for their second match up of the series.
