Big Sixth Inning Not Enough in Loss to LA Harbor

Compton, Calif. - The Tartars scored seven runs in the sixth inning but it wasn't enough as the baseball team lost 11-4 to LA Harbor on Thursday afternoon for Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day.

Compton Athletics Counselor Shay Brown joined the baseball team for pregame activities, throwing the ceremonial first pitch and standing on the line for the National Anthem.

Freshman Nick Redick went 3-for-5 with a run to lead the team's nine total hits. Freshman Josh Fischer backed up Redick's effort with a 2-for-4 performance with a double, run, and RBI.

On the mound, freshman Andy Rosales pitched a no decision, throwing six complete innings and fanning five. Freshman Jesus Lopez (1-7) closed the game as the pitcher of record.

The Tartars (9-27, 1-17) head to LA Harbor (18-18, 6-12) next on Saturday, Apr. 21 for a 12 p.m. series closer.
