Lopez, Rodriguez, Luna, and Navarro Receive Women's Soccer All-Conference Honors

Compton, Calif. Meliza Lopez and Karina Rodriguez headlined the 2021 All-South Coast Conference, South Division First Team for Compton College Women’s Soccer.

Lopez was named to the SCC-South conference first team after posting a 1.25 goal against average in 16 games played. She played in four shutouts and made 39 saves while recording five victories in the net.

Rodriguez assumed the role of midfielder and top defender for the Tartars. Rodriguez was also selected first team all-conference. Tied in goals for the Tartars with four and she led the team in assists. She was also a primary defender for the team as well and provided energy for the Tartars throughout the season.  

Along with first team honors, the Tartars also received two second team honors as well with Jacqueline Luna  Clarissa Navarro being all named to the second team.

Luna midfielder/forward for the Tartars provided aggressive talent in the middle of the field that helped the Tartars control ball in many matches. Throughout the season she was a stable force in the midfield and an anchor for ball security for the Tartars. She also had two goals for the season. Navarro created a great midfield duo as she provided more speed in the middle of the field that catapulted the offense for great scoring opportunities. Navarro had earned one goal on the season.

Congratulations to the student-atheltes on their accomplishment, the Tartars women’s soccer team and the future looks bright as all four all-conference team winners look to return next season.
