Nkwocha and Rodriguez Earn October Student-Athletes of the Month

Compon, Calif. - Congratulations to football's Emmanuel Nkwocha and women's soccer's Karina Rodriguez for earning the Compton College October Student-Athletes of the Month honors.

Emmanuel Nkwocha, the running back/ linebacking freshman from the Bronx, NY has been Mr. Everything for the Tartars football team in the month of October. He has impressed on both sides of the ball and has been a strong leader for the football program. In the game against College of the Desert he had four tackles and a key fumble recovery which ignited the Tartar football sidelines. His best game yet would be the following week at Pasadena City College where he had over 100 yards running with one touchdown and a total of 15 tackles and a forced fumble, ultimately earing the Southern California Football Association Player of the Week for Special Teams/All-Purpose.

Karina Rodriguez, the freshman goal leader of the Tartars women's soccer team, had an outstanding month of play in October. Rodriguez who has normally played as a defender for the team showed that she can be a great attacker as well. She displayed great speed and an aggressive style of play when she had opportunities to attack the opponents goal. In the month of October, she had a total of four shots and four shots on goals. Her big game of the month came against LA City College where she earned the infamous hat trick.
