Compton, Calif. – In anticipation of Compton College student-athletes returning to campus this summer to prepare for the upcoming intercollegiate seasons, Compton College Athletics is pleased to announce a partnership with Uber Eats to provide student-athletes with meals for away contests beginning with the 2021-2022 academic year.
“Bringing Uber Eats into community college athletics is a game-changer as we strive to meet the needs of our student-athletes through increased access and convenience," said Andree Pacheco, Compton College director of student development and athletics. “Through a student-athlete survey, we found that far too many students feel they do not eat enough to compete at their highest level and are going to bed hungry. So, we are very excited to pioneer this collaboration with Uber Eats because the company understands our vision to provide essential services to our student-athletes that meet their dietary needs.”
Compton College has provided meals for away contests for the past several years, however, with this new partnership, the college becomes the first California Community College to provide meals to student-athletes on Uber Eats. Not only will this partnership provide funds directly to the student-athletes' Uber Eats account, but it will also provide them with $0 Delivery Fee during their respective season.
Prospective students that are interested in joining a Compton College athletic team may fill out the Prospective Student-Athlete Information Request Form and/or email the respective head coach by visiting the athletics staff directory.
