Slaughter, Bates, and Medina Earn League Honors for Football

Compton, Calif. – It was announced on Thursday that sophomore Craige Slaughter and freshmen Demarius Bates and Marco Medina earned League Honors for the American Metro Division the 2019 football season.

Slaughter earned second team accolades for the defense safety position. He collected 57 tackles throughout the season with 36 of them being solo tackles. Slaughter averaged 7.1 tackles per game. He also had two interceptions and one touchdown on a fumble return.

Bates earned second team accolades as an offensive lineman. He averaged three tackles per game. Three of his tackles were noted as sacks with a season total of 58 yards sacked.

Medina earned second team honors as the punter for Compton. He participated in six games and collected a season total of 974 punted yards. Medina averaged 33.6 yards per punt.
